ABOUT JOSEPH DIAZ
Southpaw from California known for becoming a two-time national Bantamweight Champion. In 2012, he represented the United States at the Olympic Games in London.
He played baseball as a child but took up boxing as a means of self-defense.
He defeated Olympic silver medalist Worapoj Petchkoom and World Championship bronze medalist Óscar Valdez at the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships.
His father is also his coach.
He and Terrell Gausha both competed for the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games.
