Soccer manager and former player known for being the coach of the Colombian and Argentine national team. As the youth coach for Argentina, he is a three-time FIFA World Youth Championship winner and a two-time Under-20 South American Youth Championship winner.

As a player, he played for Argentinos Juniors from 1970 to 1974.

He won consecutive South American Coach of the Year awards in 2012 and 2013.
