ABOUT JONATHAN MARTIN

American political journalist who is known for his work as a national political correspondent for the New York Times. He is also known for having served as a senior political writer for both Politico and National Review Magazine.

He originally earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Hampden-Sydney College. He started his career working for the National Journal's The Hotline. He then joined The New York Times in 2013 where he started as a political corresponder.

He is also known for his frequent television and radio appearances as a political commentator including on CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS.

He was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia and married Elizabeth Fischer in 2012.

Alongside fellow journalist Glenn Thrush , he co-authored a book about the 2012 U.S. President election The End of the Line: Romney vs. Obama.
