Star pitcher who played for the Cincinnati Reds and threw back-to-back no-hitters in 1938.

He was traded to three different teams at the beginning of his career.

In addition to his two no-hitters, he threw a complete game one-hitter against Philadelphia in 1941.

He married Lois Stewart in 1937.
