ABOUT JOHN WILLIE
Fetish photographer and cartoonist who is known for his popular comic strip Sweet Gwendoline and published his own bondage magazine Bizarre from 1946 until 1959.
He entered Sandhurst in 1921 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Scots in 1923.
He popularised the g-string tie method of bondage and its difficulty to escape.
He was married to nightclub hostess Eveline Fisher from 1925 until 1930.
He was portrayed by Jared Harris in the 2006 film The Notorious Bettie Page.
