ABOUT JOHN WILCOCK
Pioneer of underground journalism famous for his creation of underground publications like East Village Other and Other Scenes. He is also one of the five journalists responsible for co-founding The Village Voice.
He got his start in the newspaper business writing for papers in his home country of England, such as The Daily Mail and the The Daily Mirror.
His rare 1971 book The Autobiography and Sex Life of Andy Warhol originally sold for $5 but later commanded prices upwards of $1,000.
He was raised in Sheffield, England.
He and Norman Mailer are two of the five co-founders of The Village Voice.
