ABOUT JOHN PASSMORE

Australian philosopher remembered for his contributions to the school of thought known as empiricism.

He studied both English literature and philosophy at the University of Sydney.

He was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia, the country's highest civilian honor, in 1994.

He had two daughters with his wife Doris.

He taught at Brandeis University where author Mitch Albom once attended.
