John Hynes

ABOUT JOHN HYNES

Named head coach of the NHL's New Jersey Devils in 2015 after previously serving as coach of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

He played forward for Boston University's hockey team and helped lead the team to four straight NCAA Frozen Four tournaments, including the 1995 NCAA Division I National Championship.

He coached USA Hockey's National Team Development Program from 2003 to 2009.

He was born in Warwick, Rhode Island.

He succeeded co-head coaches Adam Oates and Scott Stevens as the Devils' coach in 2015.
