ABOUT JOHN DYE
Played the role of Andrew, the angle of death, in the CBS drama television series, Touched by an Angel .
He played one of the von Trapp children in a local high school production of the Sound of Music - his first exposure to acting.
He was originally cast as an infrequent character on Touched by an Angel, but his strong performance encouraged producers to make him a regular.
He was one of three sons born in Amory, Mississippi, to James and Lynn Dye; his father a furniture maker.
He appeared alongside James Earl Jones in the 1998 martial arts film, Best of the Best.
