John Burkhalter

ABOUT JOHN BURKHALTER

After serving as owner of the U-Liner Mid-America business, this businessman and entrepreneur founded the Burkhalter Technologies construction company. Also a politician, he chaired the Arkansas Economic Development Commission; was elected Arkansas Highway Commissioner; and ran an unsuccessful campaign for Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas.

He earned a pre-medical degree from Arkansas' Hendrix College and went on to obtain a civil engineering degree from the University of Arkansas.

A philanthropist as well as a business owner and political figure, he became a board member at the Pathfinder Inc. charity.

He was born in Branson, Missouri, and raised in Sherwood, Arkansas. His marriage to Penny Kay Cobb produced two daughters.

In 2014, he and fellow Arkansas Democrat Mike Ross ran for the respective offices of Lieutenant Governor and Governor of Arkansas.
