ABOUT JOEY CARBERY

Irish rugby union player who alternates between fly-half and fullback. He plays for Munster in the United Rugby Championship and European Rugby Champions Cup and for the Ireland national team. He has 80,000 followers on Instagram.

Born in New Zealand, Carbery returned to Ireland when he was 11 years old. He attended Blackrock College for his final year of school, where he won the 2014 Leinster Schools Rugby Senior Cup.

He won the Young Player of the Season award for both Leinster and the Pro12 teams for the 2016-17 season. He also has an MBA from Griffith College Dublin.

Carbery was born in Dargaville, New Zealand, to an Irish mother from Athy, County Kildare and an Irish-New Zealand father.

After Johnny Sexton suffered a hamstring strain, Carbery was given the No. 10 shirt for Ireland's crucial 2022 Six Nations encounter with France.
