ABOUT JOEY CANTILLO

Professional southpaw that was drafted by the San Diego Padres during the 16th round of the 2017 Major League Draft. He was later acquired by the Cleveland Guardians via trade in August 2020.

He initially began his professional career playing for the AZL Padres. After seven games, he was eventually promoted.

He recorded a career-low 1.93 earned run average during the 2022 minor league season. He finished the season as the 22nd best MLB prospect in the Guardians' farm system.

Growing up, he lived with his family in the Honolulu, Hawaii area. He has a sister named Kyla.

He was once packaged in a trade that also included Austin Hedges .
