Comedian who is known for his stand-up and for co-producing and writing for Big Mouth and The Other Two . He has also had roles in several TV shows, including Sunnyside, Search Party , and Shrill . He has gained over 240,000 followers to his ihatejoelkim Instagram account, where he mostly posts videos of himself performing stand-up.

He was born Kim Joonmin. He grew up in Plainfield, Illinois. He graduated from Millikin University.

He has shared his experience with bipolar disorder. In 2023, at the GLAAD Media Awards, he won the Outstanding Film - Streaming or TV Award for his work on Fire Island.

He was adopted by an American family as a baby. He got engaged to John-Michael Sudsina in 2024.
