Utility player who began seeing time all around the diamond, including on the pitching mound. He made his MLB debut in 2008 for the St. Louis Cardinals.

He played baseball and basketball at Mountain Pointe High School in Arizona.

He signed with the Atlanta Braves in 2011.

He was born in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Rifle-armed catcher Yadier Molina was his teammate on the Cardinals.
