Born James Michael Guffey, he made his professional debut as a 16-year old, appearing as the masked Mr. XTC.

While at Ring of Honor, he was a member of the famed group The Embassy. He has gained a following on his thejimmyrave Twitter account for his wrestling content.

He was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.

He won the 2006 Ring of Honor Trios tournament alongside Alex Shelley and Abyss .
