Country singer and songwriter known for the song "He'll Have to Go," which made the Country Billboard charts. He is also a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
He worked as a radio announcer and eventually became a performer in Moon Mullican's band in the 1940s.
He joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1955.
He married Mary White in 1947.
