ABOUT JIM NORTHRUP

Former MLB outfielder who helped the Detroit Tigers win a World Series Championship in 1968.

He was a five-sport college athlete at Alma College (basketball, baseball, track, golf, and football).

He ended his 12-season MLB career with a .267 batting average and 610 RBIs.

He and his wife Patty had five children: Kamil, Azaria, Jim, Paige and Kate.

He described Ted Williams as his main baseball idol growing up.
