ABOUT JIM KERN
Former MLB pitcher best remembered for his days with teams like the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers. He made three straight AL All-Star teams from 1977 to 1979.
He joined the Indians out of Midland High School in 1967.
He was the AL Rolaids Relief Man of the Year award as the best relief pitcher in the American League in 1979.
He has been married.
He and Richard Goose Gossage were both named AL Rolaids Relief Man of the Year in the 70's.
