ABOUT JIM BOB COOTER

American football coach who became the offensive coordinator for the NFL's Detroit Lions in 2015. He began coaching the Indianapolis Colts as an Offensive coordinator in 2023. He has coached the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets .

He was offered a full athletic scholarship to play quarterback for the University of Tennessee football team. He played as the team's backup during his four years and was named to the All-Academic Southeastern Conference team.

His first job in the NFL came in 2009 when he was hired as an offensive assistant by the Indianapolis Colts. He was originally hired by the Lions in 2014 as their quarterbacks coach.

He was born and raised in Fayetteville, Tennessee.

He has worked closely with Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford as the quarterback's coach and offensive coordinator for the Lions.
