Dominican-American shortstop who began his MLB career with the Houston Astros in 2022. He earned both the World Series MVP award and the ALCS MVP award during the Astros' 2022 World Series championship run. Through the 2022 season, he had a batting average of .253.

He participated in track and field, cross country, and baseball while attending Classical High School in Providence, Rhode Island. He then went on to play college baseball at the University of Maine .

During his 2022 rookie season in the MLB, he compiled 22 home runs, 63 RBI, and 72 runs. He earned the AL Gold Glove award in 2022 for his fielding excellence.
