Well-renowned journalist who's recognized for being the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic where he focused on foreign affairs. He is also the author of the 2006 book Prisoners: A Story of Friendship and Terror.
He was editor-in-chief of The Daily Pennsylvanian while studying at the University of Pennsylvania .
He earned the National Magazine Award for Reporting for his coverage of Islamic terrorism in 2003.
He married his wife Pamela in 1993. They have three children including a daughter named Talia. His parents' names are Ellen and Daniel.
He wrote a 2002 piece for The New Yorker titled The Great Terror which discussed the threat of Saddam Hussein .
