Javier Aguirre

ABOUT JAVIER AGUIRRE

Former midfielder that played professionally in Spain, Mexico and the United States during his 14 year career. He also played for the Mexican men's national team during his career. Shortly after retiring, he began coaching in 1995.

He first began his youth soccer career playing for the América Football Club. He then joined América's professional club in 1979.

He played with the Mexican international during the 1986 FIFA World Cup. During his professional career, he played in 59 different matches.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Mexico City, Mexico. He shares a son, Inaki, with his wife, Silvia.

He coached Matija Nastasic while at RCD Mallorca during the 2022 club season.
