Jared Sexton

ABOUT JARED SEXTON

American author and political commentator who is known for having been published in The New York Times, The New Republic, Politico, and The Daily Beast. He is also recognized for his books The People Are Going to Rise Like The Waters Upon Your Shore and The Man They Wanted Me to Be.

He studied English and Creative Writing at Indiana State University and later earned his MFA in Creative Writing from Southern Illinois University in 2008. After publishing his first book in 2012, he started working as a political reporter in 2016 covering the US Presidential Election.

He is also known for having served as an Associate Professor of Creative Writing as Georgia Southern University.

He was born and raised in Linton, Indiana but later settled in Statesboro, Georgia.

He appeared as a guest political commentator on The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC in December of 2016.
