ABOUT JAMES CHRISTOPHER KELLY
One half of the famous rap duo Kriss Kross , James "Chris" Kelly and his friend since first grade Chris Smith debuted with their hit song "Jump" in 1991. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and was the leading single for their first album Totally Krossed Out which came out in 1992. In his later years he studied audio engineering, started a small record label, and ran a day-care business with his mother.
A 19 year old Jermaine Dupri discovered 13 years olds Kelly and Smith at a shopping mall in Atlanta, and invited them to go to the studio.
Rappers 2 Chainz and Ludacris are also from College Park, Georgia.
He was very close to his mother and step father and helped them run their business.
He is most commonly associated with Chris Smith , his partner in Kriss Kross .
