ABOUT JAMES BAMFORD
Author best known for his books about the National Security Agency and other United States intelligence agencies. He was named "the NSA's chief chronicler" by The New Yorker.
He spent three years in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He studied law at Yale University .
He has published four books. One of his most famous works is A Pretext for War: 9/11, Iraq, and the Abuse of America's Intelligence Agencies, which was released in 2004.
He was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
He served as a defense consultant in an espionage case involving Thomas Drake .
