NBC Denis Compton Award winner for Most Promising Young Player in both 2004 and 2009 as a member of the Surrey County Cricket Club. He played internationally for England.

Growing up he believed his sport would be rugby but he developed as a cricket player after moving to England.

He held the record for worst career economy rate in One Day International history.

His father was South African and his mother Italian.

He is a cricketer like Alastair Cook .
