ABOUT JACK SONNI
Guitarist, writer, and marketing executive best known for his work with Dire Straits . He joined the band for the 1984 recording sessions for their album Brothers in Arms. He later toured with the band and performed on stage with them at Wembley Stadium for the historic 1985 Live Aid concerts.
He started learning the guitar at age 14. He attended the Hartford Conservatory of Music.
He worked in marketing at Seymour Duncan, Rivera Guitar Amplifiers, and Line 6. He hosted a podcast called The Leisure Class with Jack Sonni. He wrote crime fiction and was working on a book at the time of his death.
In 1988, he had twin daughters named Olivia and Sophia. He also had a daughter named Stella.
He first met David Knopfler and Mark Knopfler while he was working at Rudy's Music Stop in Manhattan in the 1970s.
