ABOUT JACK ANDERSON

Muckraking newspaper columnist who wrote about such Washington scandals as Watergate, the alleged Mafia ties of J. Edgar Hoover , and a CIA plan to kill Cuban leader Fidel Castro .

At age twelve, he penned a column for a Utah Boy Scouts publication. He later wrote for The Salt Lake Tribune and served in World War II.

In 1972, he won the Pulitzer Prize for his investigative journalism work on American-Pakistani relations.

He was born in southern California to Mormon parents, and he was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He and his wife Olivia became parents to nine children.

He wrote on such controversial topics as the assassination of President John F. Kennedy .
