ABOUT J.H. PRYNNE

English poet known for Kitchen Poems and for his association with the British Poetry Revival. His numerous poetry collections include The White Stones, Fire Lizard, and Biting the Air.

He taught at the University of Cambridge. He published his debut poetry collection, Force of Circumstance and Other Poems, in 1962.

He took on the pseudonym of "Pu Ling-en" when he wrote poems in the classical Chinese language.

He married in 1969 and fathered a son and a daughter.

He was influenced early in his career by the poetry of Charles Olson .
