He grew up in Compton where he was singing and dancing at the age of 8.
He was a member of the R&B group B2K, and his nickname came from his grandma calling him boogie due to his love for dancing. By spring of 2022, his audience on Spotify had crossed the 1 million monthly listener mark.
He has three children with his longtime girlfriend Jondelle Michelle Lee.
His cousin is R&B singer Marques Houston , who was a member of the group IMx from 1992 to 2001.
