Croatian and Yugoslav sculptor and architect known as one of the greatest sculptors of religious subject matter since the Renaissance.
He apprenticed under a stonecutter and then was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
He is best known for his works Victor, The Bowman and The Spearman, and the Gregory of Nin statue.
He married Olga KesterĨanek and they had four children.
