Bantamweight who signed with the UFC in 2010; former Lightweight Grand Prix semi-finalist.

He scored a submission victory to begin his MMA career in January, 2001.

He twice earned UFC Submission of the Night honors in his first 35 professional bouts.

He was born in La Paz, El Salvador. He is a father of two children, one son and one daughter.

He had his 10th career loss at the hands of Urijah Faber at UFC 157.
