He made a name for himself performing at big comedy festivals like Just For Laughs and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has gained over 1.2 million followers on his ismocomedy Instagram account where she shares information on his comedic exploration.

He started doing comedy in 2002. which led to his own sitcom called Ismo.

He filmed four comedy specials, toured Finland many times, and appeared on television many times before coming to America. He started performing standup in English in 2005. His US debut in 2014 was at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles where he was named The Funniest Person in the World.

He had a Valentine's themed comedy tour in 2025 to encourage couples to congregate in his audience.
