Versatile player for many teams such as the All Blacks, New Zealand Sevens, Hurricanes, and Blues.
He played at De La Salle College.
He was named the NZRU Age-Grade Player of the Year in 2005.
His sister Elisapeta Toeav became a professional netball player.
He and Ben Franks both played for the All Blacks.
