ABOUT IAN RICHARDSON
Scottish actor who starred as Professor Henry Higgins in the 1976 Broadway revival of "My Fair Lady." He is perhaps best known for his television role of Francis Urquhart in the BBC trilogy "House of Cards."
He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Early in his theatrical career, he performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
He received a BAFTA Award, a Drama Desk Award, and a Tony Award nomination.
He married Maroussia Frank in 1961; the couple raised two children.
He appeared with Helen Mirren in the 1968 film version of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
