ABOUT HUGH JONES
Long distance runner who, in 1982, became the first British man to win the London Marathon. He later broke the record at the Stockholm Marathon with a time of 2:11:37.
He competed in long distance running at Latymer Upper School and the University of Liverpool .
After his retirement from running, he became the editor of Distance Running magazine and President of the Road Runners Club.
He has a son named Nathan and daughters Coral, Ella and Holly.
He and Kenya's Sammy Wanjiru are both winners of the London Marathon.
