ABOUT HOWARD A. RUSK
Physician who is considered by many to be the founder of rehabilitation medicine. He founded the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, the world's first and largest university-affiliated center devoted entirely to inpatient/outpatient care and research and training into rehabilitation medicine.
He attended the University of Missouri and the Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
He was the first recipient of the Pacem in Terris award of the Pope John Paul II Center of Prayer and Study for Peace.
He grew up in Missouri, here he was an avid member of the Health for Peace movement in the 1950s.
He was selected to receive the award for Pope John Paul II Center of Prayer and Study for Peace.
