Hall of Fame basketball coach who spent 35 years with New York University, leading them to a 429-235 record.
Standing at 6'4" and weighing in at 217 pounds, he was one of N.Y.U.'s most dominant basketball players.
His 1933-34 team went 16-0, and in 1944 his team reached the NCAA Championship, losing by a single point to Oklahoma State.
His father Frank Cann was the director of physical education at N.Y.U.
Phog Allen , 10 years his senior, was another Hall of Fame basketball coach.
