Better known as hide, he is the visual kei guitarist who played with the group X Japan.

A year after attending a KISS concert, he got his first guitar and carried it with him everywhere.

His visual kei style involved a lot of makeup, like glam rock, but emphasized the androgynous look.

His grandmother worked as a beautician, the same line of work that he first considered for himself.

The stage presence of Gene Simmons and KISS inspired him to re-create that style with his own band.
