ABOUT HENRY IV
King of England from 1399 to 1413. His 50-year reign over the country was one of the longest in England's history. He fought off numerous rebellions during his first decade as king including the revolt of Owain Glyndŵr.
He launched a military campaign to become the next Duke of Lancaster and was then named king due to the support of the people.
He led the revolt of the Lord's Appellant in 1388. His reign nearly ended prematurely due to an attempted revolt by Owain Glyndŵr. His son was captured as a prisoner and remained imprisoned for the rest of his reign.
His grandfather was Edward III, who became the king of France. He was the son of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster. His son became King Henry V after his death.
