ABOUT HEMANTA KUMAR MUKHOPADHYAY
Bengali singer and composer known for his work in films such as Balika Badhu, Deep Jwele Jaai, and Pratibha, Tunibou.
He tried to become a writer and published a short story in the Bengali magazine Desh.
He won National Film Awards for Best Playback Singer in 1971 and 1986.
His family was originally from West Bengal, but they migrated to Kolkata in the early 1900s.
He sang songs written by the famous film composer Salil Chowdhury .
