Popular Venice Beach boardwalk musician who became known for playing his electric guitar while on roller skates. He led a class action lawsuit against the Los Angeles Police Department for enforcing a ban on street performances in Venice Beach, arguing that it violated freedom of speech.

He first began playing on the Venice Beach Boardwalk in 1973.

He was featured in the Red Hot Chili Peppers music video "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie."

He grew up in Michigan, where he spent a great deal of his time playing the guitar.

He had a cameo in the film Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny with Jack Black.
