ABOUT HARRY MORTIMER
English composer, conductor, and cornet player known for conducting the Morris Concert Band and the Fairey Aviation Band.
He became conductor of the Luton Red Cross Junior Band at age fourteen.
He created the weekly music program Listen to the Band.
He is the son of conductor Fred Mortimer.
He and cornet player Maurice Murphy both played in the Black Dyke Mills Band.
