ABOUT HARRY BROWN

An American poet, novelist, and screenwriter, he is best known for novels such as A Walk in the Sun and The Stars in their Courses. His screenwriting credits include Ocean's 11, Sands of Iwo Jima, and the Oscar-winning A Place in the Sun.

He briefly attended Harvard University. During his early adulthood years, he wrote poetry and worked for Time magazine.

His 158-page work, The Poem of Bunker Hill, garnered him a lot of attention as a writer.

He was born and raised in Portland, Maine. He died in Los Angeles, California at the age of sixty-nine.

He was a close friend of poet Robert Lowell .
