American journalist best-known as a Senior Washington correspondent for NBC News. She has also featured as a MSNBC anchor and a fill-in anchor for The Today Show .
In 2006, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.
She was one of the moderators of the Las Vegas Democratic Presidential Debate in February 2020. She was eight-and-a-half months pregnant at the time.
She and her husband, Frank Thorp, have a daughter named Monroe Jackson Thorp, who was born on March 9, 2020.
She interviewed Ted Cruz and Donald Trump on the campaign trail in 2016.
