Once ranked the 30th best golfer by the Official World Golf Rankings, he secured victories on the PGA Tour at the MCI Classic and on the Asian Tour at the Benson & Hedges Malaysian Open.
He played at the collegiate level at the University of Oklahoma and turned professional in 1988.
His best finish in a major was tied for 15th at the 1994 PGA Championship.
He was born in Mobile, Alabama.
He beat out Payne Stewart in a playoff hole to secure his MCI Classic victory.
