ABOUT GEORGE HERMAN
Revered journalist most widely remembered as the longtime moderator of CBS' political talk show Face the Nation. He was also a frequent guest host of shows like Longines Chronoscope and CBS Evening News.
He received his Master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University in 1942.
His reports from Asia in the late 40's were CBS's first-ever news reports containing sound and video.
He was married to a woman named Patty.
He interviewed many of the world's most famous figures on Face the Nation, including legendary boxer Muhammad Ali .
