ABOUT GEORGE FREEMAN
American jazz guitarist best known for his collaborations with musicians like organist Richard "Groove" Holmes. He played on more than 40 different recorded albums throughout his prolific career.
He first became a member of a Johnny Griffin-led sextet in 1947.
His solo debut, 1969's Birth Sign, featured musicians like saxophonist Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre. His solo song "The Bump" has accumulated more than 50,000 streams on Spotify.
His brother, Von Freeman , was also a saxophonist.
He and pianist Dolo Coker both worked as sidemen for Gene Ammons.
