ABOUT GEORGE ROBY DEMPSTER

Inventor of the Dempster-Dumpster, a trash container in common use for generations. He used his business to finance a career in politics.

He worked as a steam shovel operator in the building of the Panama Canal, a dangerous job because of the tropical diseases and the constant rock slides.

He also manufactured the Dempster-Balester car crusher and baler and the Dempster-Dumpmaster front-loading dump truck.

He sold his inventions through his family's Dempster Brothers Construction Company.

His funeral's mourners included Al Gore 's father, the senior Gore.
