ABOUT GARTH WILLIAMS
American artist and illustrator of children's books who illustrated children's novels such as Charlotte's Web and Little Stuart.
He studied architecture at a young age and worked as an architect's assistant.
During the latter part of his life, he was part of a colony of expatriates in Marfil who built homes in the ruins of the silver mines of colonial Mexico.
His father worked as a cartoonist for Punch, and his mother was a landscape painter.
He illustrated Randall Jarrell 's The Gingerbread Rabbit in 1964.
